With over 17 years of teaching experience, I have developed a deep commitment to education as a transformative force. Currently, I serve as a Curriculum Team Leader and have previously held the role of Head of Year, overseeing both pastoral development and academic progress. I am also a Subject Mentor for trainee teachers and have delivered extensive coaching and support to new and experienced educators alike. In addition to this, I have previously been an AQA examiner and a volunteer maths and English tutor, supporting children for whom English is an additional language.

I have observed firsthand the barriers some children encounter in their learning, and I strongly believe that handwriting is one of the most significant yet often overlooked challenges. As children progress through their education, particularly into secondary school, poor handwriting can become an increasing impediment. The advantages of developing confident handwriting skills extend far beyond producing neatly presented work; it can enhance cognitive processing, improve focus and engagement, support reading & spelling development, foster better organisational skills, and boost motivation & self-confidence across the curriculum.

My approach to teaching is centred on creating a relaxed, enjoyable and supportive environment, where children feel comfortable and happy. By prioritising a nurturing space for learning, I ensure that progress follows naturally. I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to work with your child, helping to bridge any gaps and enabling them to thrive and find joy in their educational journey.
