Currently, I am not in a position to take on any new pupils due to working additional hours in my school. This is a temporary commitment and I am intending on starting lessons again in September 2024.

When lessons are up and running, I offer small group Magic Link Handwriting tuition every week (during term time) from my home in Sutton Coldfield on Saturday mornings between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

If you would like to enquire, or join the waiting list for lessons commencing in September, please fill in the contact form, attaching a sample of handwriting and I will aim to get back to you within 48 hours.

BA (Hons), PGCE Primary and Early Years Education with QTS Qualified Teacher, Writing and SPaG Subject Leader

I am a practicing primary school teacher who has 9 years’ experience in the classroom, predominantly teaching Year 6 SATs groups over the last 6 years. I am also the Writing and SPaG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) subject leader within my school.

I have always had an interest in the development of neat and legible handwriting. When completing my PGCE, I conducted a research study into the link between art and handwriting which explored the development of handwriting.

Neat and legible handwriting play an important role in meeting age related expectations (A.R.E.) in Writing by the end of Key Stage 2. Many children, who struggle to write legibly, are not always provided with sufficient handwriting practice time within the school day, particularly as they move through the key stages; therefore, these children find it difficult to improve their handwriting in line with their peers.

I can help your child with this through providing dedicated time to work through the Magic Link Handwriting programme, reintroducing the basics of pencil grip and letter formation, to joining letters consistently and fluently. This will make your child’s writing neat and legible and will also boost their confidence and make the whole writing process easier to navigate.
